I wonder how you see me
each day I walk in, ready.
I wonder if you all know
how much I worry over you
as I prepare each lesson, carefully.
I wonder if you can see
how much I admire your eagerness,
and how it feeds my soul.
I wonder how you will remember
our short time together; this year.
I wonder what will stand out
in the memories of your childhood.
I wonder if you will still
see me with the same eyes
when you are an adult yourself.
And if you will smile remembering
our time shared, these precious days,
and wonder how I am doing...

Love. Love. Love. You should copy this and put it in every teacher's mailbox!! As a fellow teacher, I wonder all those same things. You just said it more beautifully than I could...thank you!! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kristi. This really encapsulates what all parents and teachers of young children feel. Very beautiful.
ReplyDeletenicely put. I have to agree with the first two commenters (hi ladies!)
ReplyDeleteThey will remember you, and years

What an awesome teacher, who wonders and prepares carefully!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they know how wonderful you are. I bet they do. :)
ReplyDeleteLove this! And I wonder about my elementary school teachers a lot. I think the dedication of our teachers is kind of thing that you can't fully appreciate until you are an adult, though.
ReplyDeleteI bet your students do know you care and worry over them! It's the teachers that make the extra effort that stand out for me in my memories. They are the ones that made an impact.
ReplyDeletelovely wonders,
ReplyDeletecheers..
